U6-Pro PoE requirements. Question. I'm a little bit confused by the PoE requirements of the U6-Pro. The specs on the website say "802.3af PoE" but also "48V, 0.5A PoE adapter (not included)." The af injectors I have (and, I think, the af spec) only provide 0.32A (~15W). I think if it needs 0.5A, it would need 802.3at.hurricane340. •. The u7 pro's 2.5 Gbps Ethernet uplink is worth the slightly increased price of the upgrade alone. Clients connected to the u6 pro can't transmit beyond the 1 gbps line rate … also the u6 pro doesn't have 6 GHz at all, whereas this one does.Setup the unifi network controller on your current pc. When you move, it will be real easy to create a backup and restore that backup to a Dream Machine/ Cloud Key/ UDMP. Should really be at least $100 cheaper. You are correct, you get the 6ghz band that can be used for more speed or a duplex connection. So your device could send and receive at once, like Ethernet. Not as good of course, but a lot better than otherwise. You only need a 2.5gig+ switch to take advantage of WiFi 6e speeds, you will get the benefits of the 6ghz band regardless. Mikrotik is pretty easy to use and manage. It has a built in console and a webGUI, or you can use Winbox. Most of the "complexity" is in the initial setup and you can find documentation and scripts to use in the Mikrotik Wiki and other sources. I've been eyeing Ubiquiti myself because they use more modern kernels and allow SQM.It's the Ubiquiti Unifi vs. TP-Link Omada decision time. I have nothing that can utilize 4x4 antenna so the 2x2 will do just fine. The U7's still have a 2.5Gbe uplink. So the speeds should be relatively the same and when WiFi 7 stuff starts coming out you'll be ready. 9.I have the (mostly) same question. Currently running USG 3P and have been looking at UDM SE but didn't really want to spend $500. Cloud Gateway Ultra might be perfect for my needs at a much cheaper price point. Currently have the USG, a 16 port PoE Switch, and 4 APs with my controller hosted on Docker on my Synology.Too bad you can't find them anymore it seems. Ubiquiti is trying to walk a fine line between business class hardware and affordability. It's a tough path. But they are setting the standard of affordable prosumer home networking as a product category, with a lot of growing pains.Honestly a UXG-Lite would do just fine for what you want and I would personally do it if I was in your boat just for the single pan of glass. It's well worth the 130 bucks and you'll expand in the future with how well it works. I switched from an netgear to apple router then eeros to the Unifi and love it.
